About the Bean
Sweet on several fronts, this Red Bourbon coffee comes from Nkara, the smallest of three Rwandan washing stations owned by the Dukunde Kawa Cooperative. Sourcing cherries from 250 local growers, the station selects the heaviest and juiciest ones to become the batch you are enjoying today. The beans undergo a natural processing to keep the sugar content high, a choice we honour when roasting the beans lightly locally in our Alexandria warehouse. The result is a pleasing coffee with tangy acidity (reminiscent of hibiscus tea) and fruity flavour.
