About the Bean
Sourcing a Rwandan coffee that’s traceable back to a single producer is a rarity, and we’re honoured to share one with you this season. Producer Philippe Sinoyobye harvested this batch of cherries from their 0.8 hectare farm within the lush hills of Rwanda’s Southern Province. Philippe then processed the cherries at the Kabuye washing station, owned by the Abahuzamugambi Ba Kawa Maraba cooperative that he is a member of. After washing and hand-sorting, the beans are dried on African beds for two weeks, allowing the coffee to develop its quintessential fruity and sugary flavour.
