About the beans

It's the comparative tasting pack all coffee fans dream of—and for 20% off!

We're thrilled to offer our latest Tiny Tins, Epic Sips in a taster pack that allows you to truly appreciate how different processing methods and roasting profiles can create highly varied flavours in coffee plucked from the same trees. This pack of two contains:

  • 1x 100g can of Guatemala, Santa Clara (Natural)
  • 1x 100g can of Guatemala, Santa Clara (Washed)

The trees in question are Malawi geisha grown in Santa Clara, Guatemala under the careful eye of the Zelaya family. At the helm is Ricardo Zelaya, who ventured into cultivating geisha in 2008 after being drawn in by its unique taste profile.

When we asked Ricardo what to look out for when cupping these beans together, he said "In the natural process, there is the aroma of fruit...The acidity is pronounced, the body is subdued, and the aftertaste is fruity."

"In the washed process, you can taste citrus acidity, chocolate, caramel, creaminess, sweetness, and a good body. There is a prolonged and fine aftertaste."

Find Ricardo's full interview with us here. You can also find out more about each individual coffee through their product pages: Guatemala, Santa Clara (Natural) and Guatemala, Santa Clara (Washed).
