Rwanda, Daphrose Mukanyarwaga
ABOUT THE BEAN
Yellow peach and maple syrup, with a creamy body and black tea on the finish. Great structure and balance.
We feel extremely fortunate to share this special lot from producer Daphrose Mukanyarwaga. Daphrose was widowed and lost three of children during the Rwandan Genocide in 1994. Coffee has played an important role in her journey to rebuild her life. This coffee was processed at the Karambi Washing Station. On delivery, the cherries are sorted, pulped and fermented for 12-18 hours. The beans are then soaked in spring water for a further 14 hours before drying for two weeks on raised beds.
