Gachatha factory is operated by the Gachatha Farmers Cooperative Society and sits on 391 acres between the villages of Muthuaini, Thiriku, Gachenge, and Kianjau.
First the was picked and depulped the same day before being fermented in open air tanks for 24-48 hours. It is then washed thoroughly using water channels before being soaked underwater for 12-72 hours. The coffee is then dried on raised beds.
