ABOUT THE BEAN
La Esmerelda is located in Pitalito, where three major Colombian mountain ranges meet. Alexander has completed the Caravela PECA curriculum and is PECA certified. The program arms producers with the know-how to improve coffee quality, covering seed selection, planting, soil treatment, pest control, ripe picking, de-pulping, fermentation and parchment drying.
The PECA program has helped Alexander and Leidy reach their specialty coffee goals, which has led to better incomes and profits for Finca La Esmerelda.
Expect a sweet and bright cup boasting flavour notes of peach and bergamot.
